Deer love blue lupine and its economical too.

The highly palatable foliage of lupine provides a high energy, protein-rich browse for deer, turkey and rabbits.

The plant can reach a height of 3 feet, affords quality habitat for nesting game and non-game birds.

When wildlife finish enjoying the crop, turn under the lupine to enrich the soil with nitrogen and organic matter. If planted in September, deer will begin grazing it in December. Rapid plant growth occurs in late winter.

Flowers in April with it's signature 6" blue purple spikes. Plant lupines around your outbuildings for memorable color splashes.

The large seed size of Blue Lupine allows you to plant it mixed with our Naked Oats- a one pass superb combination for wildlife plots. Most other winter legume seeds are so small that they are often buried. Inoculate your seed so they can make nitrogen themselves. Then plant 50lbs/A if drilled or 75lbs/A if broadcast alone. Plant 40lbs/A if planted with 75-100lbs/A of Naked Oats. Planting time: September through November.
