When wildlife finish enjoying the crop, turn under the lupine to enrich the soil with nitrogen and organic matter. If planted in September, deer will begin grazing it in December. Rapid plant growth occurs in late winter.

Most other winter legume seeds are so small that they are often buried. Inoculate your seed so they can make nitrogen themselves. Then plant 50lbs/A if drilled or 75lbs/A if broadcast alone. Plant 40lbs/A if planted with 75-100lbs/A of Naked Oats. Planting time: September through November.
