Over 'n Out™! fire ant killer contains fipronil, a new proprietary compound introduced to consumers by GardenTech™, makers of Sevin® insecticide. Although this compound is new to the fire ant market, it is used around the world to control other insect pests. Fipronil is the same active ingredient found in Frontline® topical flea and tick control for cats and dogs, REGENT® corn insecticide, and ICON FS® rice insecticide.

It is applied to your yard with a drop, or broadcast (cyclone type) spreader. The settings for most spreaders is listed on the back of the bag. Use the setting recommended for your spreader, and walk in a cross spreading pattern.The ideal time to treat is in the early spring. Fire ant mounds are most evident, the ground is warming and there is plentiful moisture (rainfall). These are the conditions when fire ants are most active and likely to be foraging for food. Control is enhanced when Over 'n Out!™ is watered in after application. While early spring is the best time to treat, you can apply Over 'n Out!™ ANYTIME during the year if you notice the presence of fire ants in your yard.
